Candace Go-wens

That is probably the worst pun I’ve ever produced, but fortunately the occasion for it is better:

Ben Shapiro’s conservative media empire has cut ties with Candace Owens, amid a lengthy public feud between the far-right pundit and her bosses over the Israel-Hamas war.
“Daily Wire and Candace Owens have ended their relationship,” Shapiro’s co-founder Jeremy Boreing tweeted on Friday morning. “The rumors are true—I am finally free,” Owens posted to her own X account. Representatives for The Daily Wire and Owens did not immediately respond to requests for additional comment. […]
Shapiro had often come to the defense of Owens’ rhetoric, but following the Oct. 7 Hamas-led attack on Israel, the pair began a very public battle that at one point featured the Daily Wire co-founder daring his star podcaster to quit.
The feud began last November when Owens tweeted that “no government anywhere has a right to commit a genocide.” While she did not specifically mention the State of Israel, her remarks were widely condemned by her fellow conservative media figures. Soon after, Shapiro publicly called Owens’ behavior “disgraceful” and chided her “faux-sophistication” on the Israel-Hamas conflict. […]
But the Daily Wire in-fighting appeared to reach its final stage this week when Owens liked a social-media post asking conservative rabbi Shmuley Boteach whether he is “drunk on Christian blood again”—an overt reference to the antisemitic “blood libel” canard that has regained popularity on the far-right via QAnon. (Days earlier, Owens dabbled in other antisemitic tropes by suggesting there’s a Jewish “gang” in Hollywood.)

So it appears she’s been engaging in some proper antisemitism other than just not being pro-Israel. Well, as I’ve said before, Shapiro insisted on hiring her and keeping her in full knowledge of what she said about Hitler being OK; I’m wondering who finally made the call, though, cos Jeremy Dullard made the announcement and Shapiro doesn’t appear to have said anything about it. Shame it ended like this, eh? They were cunts of a feather who thoroughly deserved each other…

Yo! Daily Wire Raps!

I’ve said that I’m trying to be more positive on here, and in the interests of that I give you the funniest thing I’ve seen in ages:

This is FUCKING TRANSCENDENT. I saw something on Facebook the other day about Boon Shabibula teaming up with Canadian rapper and all-round conservative shithead Tom Macdonald for a “song”, and, well, the story is true (unfortunately the commentary video I originally posted rather than give them the view has gone offline, so there’s Anthony Fantano instead)…

…but that’s the Youtube video thumbnail image, which I think says it all: Ben looking REALLY COMFORTABLE AND NATURAL in a hoodie with “Facts don’t care about your feelings” on the front, and White Canadian Dude in another hoodie reading “I don’t care if I offend you”… and that’s a lie, of course, cos a few lines later after saying that at the start of the chorus, he then says “I hope I offend you”. So it does matter to him, and let’s face it, offending people seems to be all this tedious cunt has…

As for Ben, I think it’s kind of hilarious he’s in a rap video given that he doesn’t even think rap is music; I suppose when it’s someone like Cornrows & Face Tattoos Motherfucker doing it, though, that makes a difference, it’s not a black person expressing their perspective. And to be honest, hip hop is an art form I personally have no real use for; I think it’s been pretty bereft of interest for decades and there’s not really much to it beyond this sort of posturing bullshit (with a few exceptions like Zaid Tabani). But this is hardly a serious contribution to the art in any case, it’s just a shitty bit of trolling by both of these clowns, cos that sort of vacuity is all Ben has too…

Hilariously, in the course of looking for stuff on this subject, I found this video from a few years ago called “Ben Shapiro if he could rap”. Now that we’ve heard the real Ben actually rap, all I can say is the creator of this video VASTLY overrated Ben’s abilities…

The invisible hand gives the visible finger

I haven’t said anything about Oolong for quite a few days now, unlike the man himself who, well, said quite a lot with just a few words recently:

The funniest thing about this interview was the bit where Elon got the interviewer’s name wrong, of course, but the really important bit was where he uttered the deathless words “go fuck yourself” to those advertisers who’ve lately become sniffy about him after the Media Matters thing a few weeks ago. And then he had the nerve to post this a couple of days later:

I don’t know, are the people running those other platforms personally promoting the antisemitic shit on them like you’re doing?

The idea that if he wants advertisers on his platform maybe he should give them some sort of incentive to give him money rather than telling them to fuck off appears to have escaped him, as it appears to have done with this buffoon:

Lady Ballers looks like a horrible story unto itself, of course, but it’s not really the point here. The point is, these cunts clearly operate on the principle that they necessarily deserve advertising revenue purely by virtue of them simply being themselves? Disney should advertise on Shitter because Oolong is Oolong? No. The onus really is on him to give them a reason to. Instead he did the opposite; if there was anything he said in that debacle that he shouldn’t have said even more than “go fuck yourself”, it was “DON’T ADVERTISE”! That’s not how you do this sort of thing, you complete vacuum. It’s all about the free market for these bloody people until the free market tells them to go fuck themselves in return… and at some point I suspect he’s going to say the same thing to his investors and they’re not going to take that for an answer…

In-fight on the right!

It’s been rather pleasing over the last day or so to watch a couple of major figures on the right do what the left has always been good at, i.e. trying to tear strips off each other. Ben Shapiro has apparently been very unhappy with some of Candace Owens’ comments on the current Israel debacle:

…like that one. Incendiary stuff! And no, her boss did not like it, and this is where the discourse went:

I mean, Ben Shapiro has been unhinged for a while, Israel’s war against Palestine has just made him a bit more so than usual… but apart from that Candace has no place calling anyone unhinged; it was her, after all, who said Hitler would’ve been fine if he’d just limited his efforts to Germany. And that’s a concept that requires a special sort of fuckwit to express it seriously.

And Ben Shapiro knew that she was that special sort of fuckwit when he hired her. Which he did in 2021, two years after she said that thing about Hitler. Two years after it was known that she said it. Two years after a recording of her saying it was played at a Congressional hearing. In short, Ben Shapiro had to know that Candace had said this idiotic thing when he hired her. He must know now, cos if he didn’t at that time I’m sure he was duly informed. And he clearly hasn’t cared about that enough to, you know, get rid of her or NOT FUCKING HIRING HER TO BEGIN WITH.

Now that she’s dared to defy the official line about Israel being above reproach, though, suddenly Ben’s not happy with her (curious, though, that he’s telling her to quit rather than fire her). He was clearly OK with her being, you know, OK with Hitler if only he hadn’t presumed to conquer the rest of Europe. He’s not OK with her criticising the activities of the nation state of Israel. Apparently that bothers him more than the heinous treatment of Jews in the Third Reich. Almost like the state of Israel matters more to him than Jewish people…?

Maybe. I don’t know. But we do know he’ll only stand up for Jewish people up to a certain point:

Points to Ben for criticising Kanye’s antisemitism, but he was willing to look past it even so; Kanye being a pro-life conservative mattered more than him being a racist piece of shit who probably doesn’t think Ben is a real Jew. And when the orange cunt said this about American Jews, he agreed it was not only not even antisemitic but perfectly true.

And Ben being “Israel rather than the Jews” kind of would be in keeping with the American Christian right, which is all for Israel cos their book tells them the world has to end there, so Israel has to survive. The Jews don’t, of course, they have to convert, but Israel has to be looked after so Armageddon comes like the book insists it must. I can envisage Ben Shapiro being OK with that, maybe not so much the conversion thing, but again he’ll find a way to ignore that so he can keep in with the cool kids…

Until the crunch comes and both him and Candace realise they were never more than useful idiots for these scumbags and the Christian right they love so much hates them both and will cast them aside the minute they no longer need them. That day will hurt. And it should, because both of them will have thoroughly deserved it.

Worst person making great point, etc

All I have to say about the current bullshit in Israel is that I am opposed to civilians, especially children, being used as military targets. By anyone.

Others have offered more finely detailed and nuanced takes on that abysmal situation:

And Ben Shapiro offered an equally subtle comment, which earned a… surprising response:

I mean… I would absolutely expect someone to call out the hateful little shit on this matter, but I would not have expected ANDREW TATE to be that person. And yet there he was… he was also pretty snippy towards Peterson as well, although I gather that’s actually part of an existing enmity between them; the two have apparently been mutual non-fans for a while even though they do both share the professional misogyny thing (though I think Jordibles just lost his inexplicable Islamic fanbase while Taint retains his). I just find it a bit perplexing, cos I wouldn’t have picked him as anti-war for some reason, but I’ve been wrong about things before… I just hope he’s not singling out Shapiro cos the latter is the Pope of the Jews and Taint is a good (?) Muslim boy, but somehow I think he’s actually not doing that… and I do think the point he makes about the likes of Shapiro and Jurr Durr being hawkish from the comfort of a safe distance is not exactly wrong as such. I’m just confused by the whole thing. It’s that meme in real life.
