Decided to go for one of those classic “weird” Victorian Christmas card images today. I read an article about these recently, asking what the hell was wrong with the Victorians when it came to these things, and the author made the point that it’s only us confused 21st century folks that think these things are weird and surreal; the Victorians found them funny ha-ha, not funny peculiar. Which I suppose just goes to show how tastes in humour change with time or something…
