Social media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate arrested in Miami
Influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate have been arrested by federal authorities in the United States after British authorities announced they were bringing further charges against them.
The brothers were taken into custody in Miami by the US Marshals Service on a sealed warrant, agency spokesperson Brady McCarron told The Associated Press.
Video shared by TMZ appears to show the brothers being walked in handcuffs to vehicles by authorities outside an event venue in Miami, where Andrew Tate, 39, was reportedly due to co-host a bare-knuckle boxing event.
British prosecutors said they were seeking extradition of the Tate brothers from the US on rape and sex trafficking charges.
“We have decided to prosecute Andrew and Tristan Tate for further offences including rape, arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation and offences relating to indecent images of a child,” said Malcolm McHaffie, head of the Special Crime Division at the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
“These charging decisions followed receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police and bring the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven.” […]
A lawyer representing the brothers called their arrest “a political hit” and linked it to a defamation case brought by the Tate brothers in the US.
“The world knows Andrew and Tristan Tate are innocent. Their enemies know it best of all,” Joseph McBride said in a statement.
“We are confident that once a competent judge sees the facts, and once the Department of Justice confronts this egregious abuse of its own authority, Andrew and Tristan Tate will walk free. America does not do Britain’s political dirty work.”
Actually the surprising thing here is that they’ve actually been arrested in the US, a country which has, quite frankly, let the Taints come and go freely in the past even when the UK were after him. I’m genuinely kind of amazed that US Marshals actually did nab them this time. Maybe a child apparently being involved tipped the scale or something, I don’t know. And obviously I don’t know if these charges are, you know, accurate or not, but… am I surprised by the idea that Emory Jr would descend that far? Not as much as I wish.
Some people, though, have apparently been less interested in Andrew’s putative noncery than in what he was wearing when he was nabbed:

From the TMZ photo gallery. Obviously it’s hardly the most important aspect of the story, but I can see why some people have found it an interesting ensemble…
