Kent Hovind got whacked

Kent Hovind is one of the worst people I’ve ever heard of, and one of a limited number of people I’d describe as actually evil. I don’t use that word casually, either, but I do think this article adequately describes why I make an exception for him. He’s a dreadful human being in a way that I don’t think even his counterparts Ken Ham and Ray Comfort are. All of them are grifters and all of them are wrong about young Earth creationism, obviously, and the anti-science message all of them push is harmful, and so are a bunch of other things they say and do, but to the best of my knowledge neither Ham nor Comfort quite qualify for the “evil” tag in the way Hovind does.

I discovered Kunt Koresh (I think that was an Aron Ra-ism) in the course of exploring atheism on Youtube, don’t quite remember how; this would’ve been about 2016, I suppose, just after he got out of jail where he’d been for several years and was starting to make his grotesque presence known again. The instance of the child drowning on his property was the first really major new thing I heard against him (and his insistence that the child’s family were, you know, OK with the boy meeting an untimely death at his unsafe theme park has always angered me; what must have he have done to those poor people to convince them not to sue the living shit out of him?); the evident pedophile Hovind is accused of sheltering is another more recent story, and as for why he might be doing that… well, that’s something we can only speculate about. But he does have some track record of associating with abominable people, e.g. Jim Bob Duggar, who notably covered up his own son’s misbehaviour on that front

Still, I was a bit surprised to discover today that Youtube took down his official channel. Not yet sure why, but I’ve seen varying speculation… one person reckons it may have been cos he was trying to buy subscriptions, which is apparently a YT no-no; someone else thinks it might actually be Youtube’s “three strikes” policy at work, i.e. he’s racked up a number of complaints and Queen Susan summarily executed him at the appropriate point. But then there’s the hate speech possibility…

While looking for information on where Kent’s channel might have gone, I came across a Christian apologetics channel hosted by one Justin Derby, who looks like a right cunt (I automatically mistrust anyone who’s on Gettr, Gab, Rumble and Truth Social as this guy proudly is, even if he does have a video where he apparently mocks that Nazi shit Nick Fuentes); a couple of sample video titles:

Yeah. But he also evidently hates Kent Hovind, and he had a video showing the latter on someone else’s (Brett Keane) channel in which he talks about the Bible calling for the execution of our non-heterosexual friends and how the government should carry that out… you know, he’s not calling for vigilante action against them, which makes it OK apparently. Justin’s response to this theory is that it’s a bad idea because Christians should, you know, minister to Teh Queerz and save their sinful souls which you can’t do if they’re dead; the idea that it might be wrong to kill them JUST FOR BEING QUEER apparently doesn’t occur to him like it does to me…

Anyway, this is remarkably similar to something said by Kent’s little mate Matt Powell, who’s not only a fucking idiot who believes a demonstrably faked photo of Confederate soldiers standing over the body of the pterodactyl they supposedly shot down is actual proof of dinosaurs existing as recently as the mid-19th century, but is also a particularly loathsome hate preacher who would also be quite happy for the government to wipe out drag queens and gay people (as long as they’re not hurt in the process). Who may have influenced who here is something I don’t know, maybe they came to this hideousness independently.

Either way, though, would Youtube have terminated Hovind’s channel for saying that when he didn’t actually say it on his own channel? Remember he said it on Brett Keane’s channel, not his, and apparently Keane took the video off his own channel cos he was afraid of it getting whacked. Would Youtube cancel Hovind’s channel for being a fucking monster elsewhere? I don’t know. Or maybe he did say it somewhere on his channel? I don’t know.

Whatever the situation, Kent’s got something else he can piss and moan about and add to his martyrdom along with his tax problems and domestic violence issues. And I’ve discovered that, if all else fails, he does have at least one backup YT channel that he uses for livestreams, so perhaps we can look forward to a vehement denunciation of Susan Wojcicki for getting in the way of spreading his bullshit in the near future…

One last thing: the odd thing about Kent Hovind? He’s not a flat Earther. Indeed, he seems to really dislike flerfers. Some things are apparently beyond the pale even for someone who believes in sovereign citizen bullshit and YEC.
