I’d only just bought Blackstar that afternoon. Didn’t even have time to listen to it before the news broke (indeed, my first hearing of the album would be on Double J that evening when they played the whole thing). Dave’s timing was impeccable. In memoriam ten years later, duke.

“Morality”?

From the Graun’s Trump news highlights; apparently this is what he said in an interview with the NYT. Mushroom Cock HAS no morality, of course, and increasingly neither does his regime; as we’ve seen in the last couple of days, being an American citizen and white person will not protect you from ICE. We need to start regarding the US not only as a bad thing but an active enemy to the rest of the world; if no morality constrains how it deal with its enemies, no morality similarly constrains it from dealing with its friends the same way.
It really do be like that sometimes daily

Punk is old

Happy slightly belated 50th anniversary to Punk magazine, which apparently first burst onto the world on January 2nd 1976. The term “punk” had been circulating for a few years but mostly in relation to 60s garage rock; I gather Punk was a big player in drawing attention to a certain contemporary scene in New York (and other US cities and, lest we forget, Australia) that had been percolating around that time and the term “punk” being used to describe that new music. Plus it wound up originating thousands of print followers of its own. I wonder if messrs Holmstrom and McNeil ever thought that music would become a kind of “classic rock” in the way that certain strains of 60s and earlier 70s rock became thus enshrined during the 80s, though…
Obviously

So where to next?

Yeah, probably. Orange Cunt was weirdly determined that the US should own Greenland last year, and Mrs Stephen Miller above is clearly trying to manifest that into happening. So I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t have a crack at it at some point… but Greenland’s not really a country fully unto itself, it’s an autonomous territory of Denmark, and the latter have already been kind of short with the US on the subject (Greenland would like to be shot of both of them, but neither party cares what they think), and I feel like the rest of Europe might have something to say about it too if/when it comes to that. So Krasnov might go for an easier target where he doesn’t have to consider another country’s feelings before ignoring them anyway… and I thought he might go for Cuba cos Marco Rubio’s been hinting at it but he apparently thinks that’ll collapse of its own accord without Venezuela being able to prop it like it has been.
Either way, the “peaceful democratic transition” Albo was begging for won’t happen; it will be neither peaceful nor democratic, and it will depend entirely on who’s most willing to go along with Trump and pay him the requisite oil tribute/protection money… cos let’s be honest, Maduro may well be the scum of the Earth and Venezuela may well be better off without him, but Trump doesn’t care about any of that; this is as much about oil as a certain Middle Eastern conflict earlier in this hideous century. At least we’ve got some idea who won’t be running the joint:
Despite her popularity among many Venezuelans, Trump said on Saturday he had not been in contact with Machado since the military strikes in Caracas and that he did not see her as a viable candidate to steer the country.
“I think it would be very tough for her to be the leader. She doesn’t have the support within or the respect within the country,” he told reporters during a press conference. “She’s a very nice woman, but she doesn’t have the respect to be a leader.”
So much for her, then.
Well that’s just dandy
I wondered how long Mushroom Cock would take to fuck things up royally for the first time in the new year, and, well, I have an answer. This long.
Donald Trump has claimed the US has “captured” Venezuela’s dictator, Nicolás Maduro, and his wife, Cilia Flores, and flown them out of the South American country after a pre-dawn assault on Caracas and the surrounding region.
“It was a brilliant operation, actually,” the US president told the New York Times after eyewitnesses in Venezuela reported a series of explosions. “A lot of good planning and [a] lot of great, great troops and great people.”
Writing on social media, Trump confirmed his troops had launched “a large-scale strike against Venezuela” and said more details would be announced at a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago residence. CBS News reported that US officials said Maduro had been captured by members of the elite army unit Delta Force, which was responsible for the 2019 killing of the Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
I know lots of people have predicted Krasnov would do something to Venezuela at some point, but I don’t think they were expecting it to be this abrupt (though I suppose the abruptness was the point). And what’s he going to actually do with Maduro? I see some commentators comparing it to the taking of Miguel Noriega in 1990, but the crucial distinction there is that Panama actually declared war on the US so that, whatever else may be said about that situation, the US could at least claim they had a good reason to invade them… which is very much not the case here. Sigh. I was hoping Orange Cunt would wait a bit longer to inflict Interesting Times upon us all… wonder what’s turned up in the Epstein files (apparently five million pages of previously unknown stuff has just resurfaced) that he’s trying to distract us from.
Whoops

This is not the first time Grok has done this, I’m sure, merely the first time it’s been caught doing so and admitting it… still, if any laws have indeed been broken, I’m sure Edolf will pay a suitable amount to someone so they overlook it…
EDIT later: UGH. At least “Harold” has been suspended from Twitter, now to suspend him from the highest branch by the neck…
