This… atrocity is being held by Mike Waltz, the US’ national security advisor. At least, that was his job until Mushroom Cock fired him from that position because of his part in Signalgate. Remember that? The daily and continual stream of bullshit emanating from American politics makes it so hard to remember sometimes… but yeah, it was Waltz who inadvertently got the guy from the Atlantic into Pete Hegseth’s Signal group chat about bombing Yemen, so he’s the one suffering as a result… rather than Hegseth who, remember, was the one using an unsecured chat app for what should’ve been classified information in the first place. This is what you get for participating in cringy propaganda for God Emperor, evidently.
The Financial Review is actually kind of sad about this:
Waltz was arguably one of the least unqualified nominees for Trump’s cabinet. That’s not saying much when the field included a Fox News host such as Hegseth or conspiracy theorists such as, well, several of the others.
Still, Waltz is a Green Beret with four Bronze Stars and a record of bravery in Afghanistan, as well as a former Congressman who, before he kissed Trump’s ring, spoke with moral and strategic clarity against the dictatorships in China, Russia and Iran, and for their victims, from the Uighurs to the Ukrainians. […]
At heart a hawk in the Republican tradition of Ronald Reagan, he became lonely in the administration as the isolationist and imperialist America-First wing, personified by Vice President J.D. Vance, grew stronger.
Waltz, who would have loved to counsel the president on staring down the Kremlin in Ukraine or Beijing in the Taiwan Strait, instead found himself, say, standing next to Vance at an American base in frigid Greenland, trying not to look forlorn as the vice president delivered an unsubtle hint to one of America’s closest allies, Denmark, to hand over its Arctic territory to the US.
When Waltz tried to hire like-minded experts at the National Security Council, he found his choices blocked by MAGA blowhards who know nothing about foreign policy.
Why don’t I feel sorry for him, then? I mean… look where the “Republican tradition of Ronald Reagan” got the country. And, frankly, look where it’s got him. Perfectly respectable military and political career to Drumpf toady. He could’ve not brought this on himself.
